CIVL spent an entire year collecting interviews and in studio performances from 10 notable touring artists, pairing each with a local artist from the Fraser Valley. Each week for ten weeks, CIVL will release a new 10 minute video on social media, and a companion interview and performance from a local and touring artist each, broadcast on 101.7 FM and archived for download. UFV students, CIVL volunteers, and our community radio staff members worked with M.Hutt and Casey Kowalchuk films to bring exciting performances from Juno award winners, Polaris Prize short listers, international educators, local upstarts, and some fun faces from the Canadian media landscape as well!

Topics covered in RECORDING Project interviews focused on intersectionality, privilege, marginalization and community building. Harry Doupe and Drew Riekman coordinated bookings and logistics, and a variety of CIVL volunteers hosted the interviews in studio under their direction.

Click on the artist selection below to view their video!

CIVL hosted 20 artists in it’s studios in 2018 and 2019 thanks to funding from the Community Radio Fund of Canada, allowing us to showcase diverse local and touring artists, their songs, experiences and stories!

[1485,1509,1632,1616,1624,1629,1640,1639,1557,1619,1618,1620,26,1631,1625,551,1637,1623,1626,1595,1627,1630,1622,1621,1633,1638,1628,1127,1617,1641,1635,1634,1123,475,1546,1636,1614,1615,832
